The Memorial Garden at the Bartons' Victory Memorial Hall (aka the Sports & Social Club) in Middle Barton was opened on the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, 8th May 2020.
The Rector, Jane Wright, blessed this lovely tribute, and the ribbon was cut by Tony Reed, supervised by Elaine Stevens and Allan Stewart. Thank you to them and all the Club Committee members responsible for the creation of this memorial, and to John Umney for his photos and video.
Presided over by a silhouette of a WW1 soldier, the garden has been newly planted and is very peaceful. A bench faces the memorial stone with the names of the fallen, and the field beyond it.
