Kettles on for Polly

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

Once again, we wanted to raise funds for Polly's group of homeless and poor people in Banbury, and held a small but successful Coffee Morning in Duns Tew Village Hall on Saturday 1st July. We raised £261.75 for Polly, and £70.75 for the village hall.

Polly was there to tell us about the work God asked her to do.

She has found that food donations from churches are becoming fewer now, so she relies more and more on regular financial donations from individuals and churches - more always welcome - so our Coffee Morning provided a welcome financial boost as well as some left over cakes.

Every afternoon Polly meets around 16 poor and vulnerable people in St Mary's Churchyard who come to her for support, food and friendship. She listens to their problems and tries to meet their needs by giving them nourishing food, clothing and other items to help their daily lives.

Polly doesn't drive, so everything is packed into a large shopping trolley which she takes to her people on the bus. Day in, day out.

Hats off to Polly - and thank you if you support her!
