Our first online service today went brilliantly, despite the odd glitch and the unfamiliarity of all of us with the technology involved!
It was surprisingly uplifting despite the novelty and weirdness of only seeing each other on a screen rather than in person - but what a joy it was to see each other at all, after 5 weeks' absence from church.
Thanks to Carol Rigby for doing the techno end, Jane for taking the service, Steph for reading the lesson and leading the intercessions, and John Maksinski for being the solo choir to my organ playing.
Perhaps one day Zoom will be a little more efficient at allowing multiple participants to join in with prayers and hymns altogether, but for now we have to mute everyone except those speaking or singing, to avoid interference and time delays - which could have made us more Tower of Babel than Barton Benefice!
