Congratulations and thanks to Raymond Lye, who was admitted to the Fellowship of St Birinus by the Bishop of Dorchester, in recognition of his work for the Church in Sandford St Martin.
Raymond has undertaken a great deal of "unsung" work, especially in managing the many structural improvements to the Church and the Hall, and is well deserving of more public recognition of his efforts.
The ceremony took place at Dorchester Abbey on 24th September.
The Fellowship of St Birinus was established in 2009 by the Bishop to honour people who have given exceptional service to their church and community over a number of years.
Each year members of the fellowship are invited to tea with the Bishop, before the service when new honorees are admitted.
