Building work at St Martin's church started at the beginning of May on the vestry area in the south aisle, and is due for completion in July/August.
The space is being reconfigured to accommodate a disabled toilet, a new vestry and a servery.
The works are progressing well and the condition around the Church is more satisfactory than was originally anticipated.
Although the protection of the unaffected parts of the church is excellent (e.g. the organ is well wrapped up!), it is not practicable to hold services in the church at present because of all the building equipment and materials.
There will therefore be no services at St Martin’s during May and June.
We are keeping the situation under review and will let you know a.s.a.p. about services in July.
