What's a Parlour Concert?

Parlour Concerts (or house concerts) are "proper" professional concerts but in an intimate setting. They offer an exceptional opportunity to see and interact with talented musicians informally and personally.

These high quality concerts are often scheduled into a tour of much larger venues; artists really seem to enjoy the relaxed and informal setting, and this is evident in their performances.

Concerts are by invitation only; if you would like to be on the mailing list to receive invitations, please contact us. You can of course ask to be removed from the list at any time. We are not automated and we do read all your emails (except when modern technology fails us)!

When concerts are arranged, you will be sent an invitation email with the details, asking you to RSVP by a certain date if you are interested in attending.

Guests pay an agreed donation, to provide the artists with a guaranteed income – this is after all how they earn their living.

Because of the very small audience size we do need to know for certain whether guests will be attending or not (seating capacity is between 20 and 40 depending on the space needed for the performers), so a positive RSVP to an invitation is considered as binding. If you are unable to attend at short notice, you would still be expected to pay your agreed donation (or send a friend instead).

Soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, crisps, tea & coffee etc are available at each concert.

Most of our concerts are in the evening - typical timings are:

Doors open 7:30 pm

Last call 7:50 pm

Interval 8:45 pm

Bar open from 7:30 pm

We also have occasional Sunday matinees, starting at 3pm.

There will be opportunities to meet the performers during the interval and afterwards, and CDs and merchandise may also be available.
