The Fellowship of St Birinus

Many congratulations to Barbara Imbert and Chris Jones (pictured here with the Bishop of Dorchester) who were admitted to the Fellowship of St Birinus recently. The Fellowship was established by the Bishop to acknowledge exceptional service to the church and the community. Barbara and Chris have contributed so much to the work of our church and to the community over the years and this acknowledgement is well deserved. The admission service took place at Dorchester Abbey on Sunday 18th September following a sumptuous afternoon tea.

Harvest Festival at Sandford St Martin

‘The summer is over, September is here, there’s a chill in the morning, the air cool and clear. We’ve gathered together our harvest to share And we’ll bring it all home while the weather is fair.’ Sunday 2nd October was a bright autumnal day, with ruby rose hips iridescent in the morning sun and spiders’ webs jewelled with dew-drops strung across blackberry hedgerows, as we made our way to celebrate this year’s Harvest Festival at the beautiful church of Sandford St Martin.
